Specification approval
Identify the drawing revision, dimensional tolerance, material, finish, components, quantities, packaging and acceptance criteria in writing.
Prototypes and changes
Specify whether prototype approval is required. Changes after approval need a written change order covering cost and timing.
Commercial agreement
Confirm tooling or engineering charges, sample terms, price, currency, payment milestones, inspection and shipping responsibilities. Do not assume a standard deposit percentage.
Artwork and intellectual property
Confirm rights to submitted designs, confidentiality, tooling ownership and permitted use of artwork in the final agreement.
Defects and mandatory rights
Custom manufacture does not remove rights for defective or non-conforming goods. Cancellation and remedies require applicable-law review.
